Where would you find information on state tournament history? Team finishes, state champs, medalists?

what about prior to 2000? or individuals who have one state championships? I'd say check with Rich Torti the NP coach, he took over as historian when Rich Munger stepped down. I know he has boxes of info.

I know some NP people do so they will hopefully spread word. I was thinking about grabbing that data from him and at least making an excel sheet with all the state champs. I think it would be cool to upload it here.

I have copies of the the 1997 and 1998 state tournament brackets that I scanned and turned into word files back in the day. I also have the results of many tournaments in those two years, including the B and C sectionals, the Wilson Cup (when it existed. Does anyone remember when, in '97, they misspelled it Willson Cup on all the shirts being sold?!), the Warwick Tournament, etc. I would be extremely interested in this material as well from anyone who has it. I'm a history geek, including wrestling If anyone has it to share, could you post it here so everyone can have access?

I have full results, every match that is, for both 1997 and 1998. I don't have them in bracket form though. Also, I have full results, some as brackets, for the 1998 B Sectionals, '98 C Sectionals, '98 All-Star Tournament, '98 Warwick Invitational, and '98 Wilson Cup. just let me know if you're interested.

I'm not positive, but it's possible Johnston had 5 champs in 1999. I know Melise won at 125, Franco at 130, and Desmarais at 152, but I think they had more champs than that. They scored some ungodly amount of team points that year, like they were well over 200, while Coventry finished second, but I think with barely 100, and it actually might have been less.

I know Hendricken had five champs in 1976 (out of 12 weightclasses back then) when they won RI and NE titles. I'm pretty sure Coventry did it at least one time in their 20 year run of state titles (although apparently not 99; forgot that Alves beat Hennessy that year).

Johnston did not. They also had Mirrabile but their 112 who was their last finalist got smoked by Munley. Forgot about Hennessey being upset in the finals, Sherlock was tough too.

Mirabile did win, you're right. I want to say it was against Keith McGinley of Cranston East. Munley won handily over, I believe, Mike Basilico of Johnston, which would give them 4 champs. That was also the start of some big matches between Munley and Jon Egan of SK, but I don't think Egan reached the finals in '99.
