congrats to the organizers of this year's Futures. they streamlined the system and got people out of there by 9.00 (anyone remember last years late nite?). it was a well organized and successful tourney: hats off to you guys! great work.
bracket's weren't updated much so it i missed some names of some of these new HS kids (I dont follow middle school as much as i prob should). here's some quick impressions:
lots of potential at 98, 32, 60.
biggest surprise: anybody not there want to guess which school had most finalists? Barrington, by my count had five in champ round?! can anybody confirm that? granted some big teams weren't there: Cumberland, EP. Still, impressive. congrats to them.
best wrestler NOT to make the champ round? Petrucelli 32 from CW. young kid is silky smooth with some chain skills. lost in semis to Tomasi from Barrington--raw but excellent athlete. imo, the match of the tourney. petrucelli placed a well deserved third.
OW? i'd say the kid at 98---anyone catch his name? reminded me of marc aurele (well ok we'll prob NEVER see another of him!). like the 32's, at least three kids with real potential there. what do you think? the kid from hendricken at 32 (NOT dimauro)? the 60? Just my opinion.
