i think you need to update the rankings very soon No reason to update the rankings untill matches are in full swing. Only 1 tournament has gone by, the south County, (takedown tourny does not count for rankings). A few changes could be made but lets see where everyone will wrestle. |

what class is stronger this year out of 189 and 215? 189 vs. 215 is more a difference in styles over which is better. 189 does not typically have the same muscle or size as 215 but the athletes there are much quicker. Just use last year's state champs as an example. Downing was explosive and fast whereas Sanchez was brute strength. The frontrunner this year at 189 is Zeramby from NK and at 215 Rodrigues from Woon. If you're trying to decide which weight class to go, decide which one of those two you match up with better. |

yeah thats my issue im pretty even with both 189 and 215 i think i could place sixth at either weight but i think im a little bit better going against slower stronger guys although i wounldnt want to take that away from my team mate so i guess ill just have to see how this season goes before i make a choice

Phillips, I made the same decision last year. Decided 215 was my better option and I went All-state at that weight class. Even got a win at New England's vs. the No. 2 kid from NH. It is a big decision to make though I'll let you know that right now. The breaker for me was that for one match only I caught Sanchez when he was having an off day. Never caught him again after that. If you really wanna know where you stand, try facing the best guys at both weight classes and see how you do.

freshmn should have to earn rankings...
most will ,but to rate them top 6 or even hm before they have faced anyone ??
some are wrestling JV i heard

Semi updated rankings... still not much to go on. South County tournament was basicly just that, the south county teams. Some important matches did happen, mainly at 145 with Minty beating Jerrell, overall looked like 45 was very competative. Also a good match between Adams and Travers (who proved he can make 25). Some names did appear from wrestling this weekend there though I dont think we can jump to many conclussions about the lighter weights (103-119) because there werent many kdis with varsity experience there. Not knocking the great wins by those kids at those weight classes but I think we need a bigger sample size by some of them to move them up the rankings. I didnt rank many freshman, other then some at 103 because thats where they are most succesful in HS level and then Alverez and Labrie twins. The latter 3 I ranked because they have all wrestled in HS tournaments over last 2 falls and springs at the Nutmeg Series and have done exceptionally well for freshman, in my mind that earns a ranking. Weights will continue to switch around I just looked at where kids minimums are and where they might fall in team lineups. Some teams are trickier to predict where they will be.
