Hello again,
Certain threads on the forum have started to become inundated with trash talk, nonsense posts, and some true "fake news". Here are my thoughts on that:
Leave the crap elsewhere. Even though it is the internet and you get all the anonymity that comes with it, this is a public forum. It is frequented by current, former, and soon to be high school wrestlers. However, it is also followed by parents, coaches, officials, fans, and the entire wrestling community. Every time you post something its as if all the people who read this where sitting in an auditorium with you listening to your Principal talk about something. If you wouldn't shout it out loud during an event like that with your face in full view of everyone, then don't post it here. If you disagree with what someone posts and wish to voice your opinion on the matter, do so appropriately. If your emotions are forcing you to need to say something inappropriate, do exactly what you would do in the auditorium. Lean over to your closest friend and whisper it to them. Don't put it out on full blast. It only serves to show how little respect you have for the rest of the people who read this forum.
This is the oldest and greatest sport in the world. The community that drives is small but powerful. It is filled with athletes who have pushed hard, trained hard, cut-weight, bled, and sacrificed their bodies to do what they love. It is filled with coaches who after doing everything the athletes do, spend more hours in their life than most people can count making sure the next generation gets as much out of this amazing sport as they did. It is filled with parents who make the right meals, drive to far away cities, and sit for hours and hours and hours in hot gyms on hard bleachers just to support their son or daughter when they take the mat for 6 minutes. All of these people whether they be State Champions or JV guys pushing hard for their opportunity, deserve nothing less than your respect simply for being a part of this.
A few people recently had their privileges revoked because they couldn't handle themselves properly. This is not something that should ever need to happen in the wrestling community. You are better than that and need to be better than that.
Good luck to you all in this last month of the season. Work hard, go hard, but do it right!
