That's not fair for Jerez though Woonsocket can't afford to go out of state for tournaments so he doesn't get a chance to wrestle out of state comp you can only wrestle who is put in front of you but disano and celico yes definitely I also agree about bloom not being atop the p4p list he hasn't looked phenomonal this year. Instead of feeling bad for Jerez, you should tell him, use this as motivation to go out and win his weight class, and he does not have to travel out of state to wrestle the top competition this year, the New England's are coming to us. You are aware that this P4P ranking does not mean a thing. I guess it is nice to see your wrestlers name up there, but all these rankings go away in a few weeks, and they all get a chance to prove themselves.

Did not realize Woonsocket could not afford to travel a factor that did not come to mind and I am sure they are not the only ones now that you mention it. Do the best with what you have and bring your A game on the 26th. As for P4P I do not have a list, #1 just does not seem to fit, again just my opinion.

No big talk Mike just my observations backed up with the data that is available not my personal opinion. Guess we will see in a couple of weeks.. There is stiff competition and wrestlers with quality wins where ever he goes. I wasn't talking about anyone specifically just the general belief that last years performance somehow makes a wrestler the favorite 2 or 3 weight classes above. As for this data you reference, does any of it include beating a top 7 or 8 RI wrestler at either 126 or 132??? I do agree, whoever comes out of these classes will earn it. Quality competition all around. Not at all with the 7 or 8 ri wrestlers. I was referring to what weight a RI wrestler weighs in at to decide where he is going for weight class. Bloom has 8 matches at 32 and only 4 at 26. Zuller is 6 at 38 and 7 at 32 with 2 unreported. It appears Bloom has decided to go 32 and Zuller could go either way. That depends on the actual weigh in, did they weigh in at the lower weight and wrestle up or did they weigh in at the actual class they wrestled? You get less power points for seeding if you win a match out of the weight class you weighed in at.

Jerez has been one of the most dominant wrestlers in RI over the past two seasons. I believe he lost one match in state last year and that was at states to Disano in the quarters(3-1). He also beat Stamas during the season. I look at how crowded 138 is and I think it is partly a reflection of how good he is. There are some very good wrestlers at 138 that have the size to migrate to 145 but they haven't. He'll win states this year and represent RI well at New England's.

Makes sense about Jerez but I think he will have his hand full with Teves. Should be a great finals match up

Should be a great finals match up Yeah should be but Jerez isn't my wrestler just making a point for argument because you said teves has better out of state wins but you can only wrestle who is put in front of you but yes 126-145 is looking really strong should be a great state tournament

Makes sense about Jerez but I think he will have his hand full with Teves. Should be a great finals match up Since when is Teves going 145? Moses Brown seems to be making a mockery of this whole process. This is why they should still have DII states. The kids in DII can lay low for the whole season, never face the toughest competition in state, then pick the easiest road at the end of the season. This sport is supposed to be about seeking a challenge. Looking to face the best to bring the best out of yourself. I'm seeing the exact opposite. Haven't any of these kids seen Vision Quest??? I'm only partly joking.

He has the # 1 seed already locked on power points and that is exactly why he did not wrestle him. The only way he could have lost it was head to head in a real match, that is also why he asked for an exhibition match to see where he was at without it counting. That's how I see it anyway.

I was unaware you could have no significant wins and still be the #1 seed. Maybe they should change this so last season isn't weighted so much. I think success this year in this weight class is more important than success at 113 last year.

Definitely they use the half your matches at weight to a T and yes teves wrestled 145 but he has only wrestled about 8 matches same with bloom while everyone else is wrestling there full schedule and making weight multiple times a week. I don't think it's fair and I also believe sectionals is the answer!

I think if you send an email to the RIIL and voice your point of view there is a good chance DII states would be reinstated. The RIIL wants to keep everything on the up and up. They will put a bug in coaches ears when they don't post results in a timely manner also.

I guess it's not enough that they can bring in kids from all over the RI or even out of state(Andrew Howard was from Mass) but now they game the system and have been ducking matchups all season. They should change their name from Quakers to Ducks. The Moses Brown Ducks has a nice ring to it. Keep ducking, MB!!!
