Soto is by far one of my favorite wrestlers and in a previous comment about sandbagging it has nothing to do with a wrestler that is legitimately out with an Injury, it has all to do with wrestlers that are fully capable of wrestling that are held from the lineup as to jockey positions in the brackets which in turn may help themselves along but also hurt others who have worked their asses off. I say if you are capable of wrestling and you or your coach doesn't put you on the Mat, excuse my French but the word is called a * !!!!!!The reason the boys are the way they are today is purely a bunch of liberals and pussies avoiding a good fight.... I wish each and Every boy that steps on the mat the best of luck.... Remember you are already a CHAMPION just for competing in the most grueling of sports that HS has to offer !!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I have OFFENDED someone Tough !!!

Pierce is a good Wrestler but I think you are truly forgetting Giorgio and Martino. I wish him the best but I say maybe 3rd or 4th would be respectable !!!! Would love to see Lorenco get OW but I truly believe that all considered there are better wrestlers in the mix ...and if fair and equitable decisions are made it can go to one of many....To even predict an outstanding wrestler at this point is Ludicrous, they have not even stepped on the mat yet !!!!!!!!!!!! That's like saying RIIL will charge a 5.00 admission instead of jamming it up every families Butt on the way in the door.. All about Greed !! Don't let them fool you by saying it goes back to the kids..Take a look at their bank account !!!!!!!

Who do you think will get OW? Jarrell has a good chance if he pins through. Sauro should also walk through. The winner of 120 cordoso could also get it I think it should be the 126, 132, or 138 Champ. Unless someone does something crazy like pin everyone in the first period.

I think grandfather is correct in saying Cardoso, the kid is a beast but like I said it is based on their performances In the state Tournament,so if all bias is left aside come time to vote hopefully it does go to the outstanding wrestler of the State Tourny..Grandfather you are correct in one aspect that Sauro is a great wrestler but nothing in wrestling is a walk my friend. A stronger guy could put him in a place that ma be difficult to get out of, cordoso is an excellent wrestler and is on top of my list. Lots of great talent and as always an interesting end to such another great year of wrestling.... GOOD LUCK TO ALL Wrestlers and REFS who have the difficult tasks of making the right and fair calls(as always we have the best in N.E )

If you think Sauro is best pound for pound in state you haven't been paying attention closely I'm not sure what you are paying attention to then. Sauro is, I believe, completely undefeated in New England. Even RI studs like Celico, Cardosa, Bloom, Howard, Jarrel, Francis, Peoples and Giorgio have lost to out-of-state competitors. Sure, different teams and different tournaments, but Sauro has won against Mt. Anthony and Springfield Central, possibly the top two teams in New England, and won Capitol City against good NH and Maine competition. He did, of course, lose badly to a nationally-ranked wrestler from Blair Academy, but that's another world altogether. In little RI and tidy New England wrestling he deserves strong consideration. The only other RI wrestlers I think are completely undfeated in RI and NE are Merritt, O'Connell and Bivona. Are there any others I'm missing, or have any of those lost? The great thing about the pound-for-pound argument is that it's completely unprovable and a matter of opinion. Howard is not going to wrestle Sauro, and Bivona is not going against Cardosa. Let's first see how everyone does at States (where Mssrs. Soto, Skawinski, DiMauro and Rivet - among others - await)! Then let's see who advances at NE's, where the competition is a better test of ability. Desantis from chariho at 220 has pinned everyone but one kid the 1st period in RI and at out of state tournaments this year.

Cardosa can't win OW. His weight class is not too deep. Sauro weight class also not deep at all. Has to come from a deep weight class.

Now is when we have to think before we speak, what if a kid from what you call a not so deep weight class as you describe wrestles outstanding enough to win his weight class outright and just has an outstanding performance all around ? Isn"t every wrestler that steps on the mat eligible to become the outstanding wrestler depending on his performance or has the Bias already got you!!!!!!!!!!!! LETS go Underdogs !!!!! Kick some Ass and show some of these fools that anything can happen !!!!!!! Now its getting real fun !!! Ill listen to the excuses when its over !!!!!!!

Sauro, a great wrestler, undefeated in and out of State as described, probable that he will win his wt class, but if he were to come up short and lets say a D2 guy just happens to have an outstanding day and wrestles above and beyond, what your saying finalist is that they are not worthy of a shot at OW !!!!!!!!!!! Or the same scenario in another wt class !!!! Boy am I glad your not a Ref !!! There is much Bias to your statement !!!!!!! And why couldn't Sauro himself become an OW if he has a superb performance as he probably will ??

I think the 160 should be a strong weight class and one where the winner could be any number of people all close in ability. In addition to the big three Peoples Stewart and Francis there are some D2 kids who have been wrestling well. I am in the dark about the seeding process but I find it strange that Duran from SK is seeded fourth when he wrestled two times at 160 against unseeded wrestlers and the rest of his matches at 152. It doesn't make sense he is higher than guys who actually faced and defeated wrestlers in the weight class. Duran is 8/8 in 152 - 6 pins and 2 forfeits. He is 5/7 at 160 - 3 pins and 2 forfeits. The two losses were to People's in OT by decision and Stewart pinned him. So he is 13/15. That said, I am not sure how the seeding works.

I'm just making a point. sometimes the heavier weights are thin with talent. How many returning place finishers at 82.
