Just to update everyone to avoid any confusion the RI Middle School States will take place this weekend (January 28 and 29) at the Cumberland wellness center.
The Tournament will host both the Futures (JV States) and the Varsity states running concurrently. This is due to the cancelation of last weekend’s tournament. Unfortunately due to the circumstances the top 3 place finishers at the futures will not have an opportunity to advance this year, however they will still be able to end their season with a tournament.
We have a total of 378 kids wrestling and the days may run long. However it should be an exciting weekend to see the future up and coming wrestlers in the state.
For those of you not aware of the middle school league, 22 teams across the state and various independents representing their schools compete in their respective weight classes for state titles.
Congratulations to the Division Champions Southern Division- A.S. Feinstein (Coventry) Northern Division- J.L. McCourt (Cumberland) Western Division- Gaudet (Middletown) Eastern Division- Burrillville
Thanks for the update coach! A lot of parents I know had some confusion
If you get access to either or both tournaments brackets can you please email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will post them in MS section. Even if it's just seeded brackets or full end results all would be great.
Congratulations to all participants in the 2012 middle school RI Varsity and Futures tournament. As you know we ran 2 tournaments at once, i would like to thank everyone who helped volunteer and all the spectators for their understanding as we ran the tournament, overall i belive everything went smooth and all the teams wrestled great!

riwrestlingfan: What a great tribute Atlantaal! All three kids are special talents. I do rankings and wish I could rank them 1A B, and C. No matter who wins this weekend it will be a great story. Altieri for 4, Cody winning his first or Davol proving doubters wrong.

riwrestlingfan: I agree with you that Celico would be the favorite over Bloom, but I wouldn't count Cardosa out. I think that would be a pretty even contest. Both guys are studs
